Deool Band – A fight against Spirituality v/s Science

Deool Band, a film with an unusual title puts us into thoughts about what is the film all about? This film released on the auspicious occasion of Gurupornima all over Maharashtra. From the name itself, the film seems to be based on spirituality. After writing for many successful shows, Pravin Tarde and Pranit Kulkarni have now moved towards direction. The film is produced by Jayashree Kailas Wani and Juilie Wani under the banner Vatvruksha Entertainment.

The film is based on the philosophies of Swami Samarth. This is a story about a young scientist Raghav Shastri played by Gashmeer Mahajani from US, hired by the Indian Space Research Centre returning to India for a special project. Raghav is an Atheist, who does not believe in God. He is made to stay in a local society due to security reasons, which eventually has a Swami Samarth temple near it. Disturbed by all the prayers and bhajaans offered to the god, Raghav leads into an argument with the other members of the society who believes in God. His hatred against God eventually makes him to close the temple doors and then begins a debate against science v/s spirituality.

Actor Mohan Joshi will be seen portraying a different yet graceful character of Swami Samarth. The role of an atheist scientist is also crafted elegantly by Gashmeer. 

The film sets out to make its resemblance with films like Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Me Shivaji Raje Bhosale Boltoy and Oh My God where imaginary figures are brought into life. Yet this film had a serious message and a deep emotional connect. This kind of film is a rarity in modern world. This film not only entertains but also enlightens people mind. You are bound to ask certain questions to yourself after watching the film. It is thought provoking and your mind-set may change after watching the movie.

Actors Girija Joshi, Nivedita Saraf, Mohan Agashe, Adesh Bandekar, Shweta Shinde, Prasad Oak, Sunil Barve and Mahesh Manjrekar also delivered a splendid performance. Music by Ajay – Atul and background score by Narendra Bhide brings life to this film.

This movie is a must watch to see the rare struggle between Science and Spirituality.
